Vision
Founded in 2007, the Prajs-Drimmer Institute for Anti-Degenerative Drugs was established to catalyze transformative breakthroughs in neurodegeneration and redefine the therapeutic horizon for these devastating disorders. Our vision is to serve as a premier hub for discovery-driven, translational research that accelerates the development of disease-modifying strategies and reshapes the future of patient care.
To realize this vision, the Institute is committed to:
-
Accelerating high-impact research and innovation in neurodegenerative science, advancing from mechanistic insight to therapeutic translation
-
Cultivating the next generation of scientific leaders by empowering outstanding doctoral researchers with rigorous training, mentorship, and dedicated fellowships
-
Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among TAU faculty to integrate diverse expertise - spanning molecular biology, chemistry, engineering, computational sciences, and clinical research - into cohesive, solution-oriented programs
Through these strategic pillars, the Institute aims not only to advance knowledge, but to drive measurable progress toward effective, precision-based therapies.

Our Approach
Our approach is grounded in scientific rigor, technological innovation, and translational focus.
We integrate mechanistic biology, advanced analytical platforms, and state-of-the-art drug discovery strategies to systematically address the most pressing challenges in degenerative diseases.
By bridging fundamental research with therapeutic development, we accelerate the path from molecular insight to clinically actionable solutions.
Central to this strategy is our commitment to cultivating scientific excellence:
we actively train and empower the next generation of researchers, supporting outstanding M.Sc. and Ph.D. students each year through competitive fellowships and immersive, high-impact research environments.
